My Thought Process
Okay, so I'm sitting on my bed on a Sunday and I'm FINALLY making an actual blog with an actual domain. I've been thinking about this for the past TWO YEARS and I'm doing the thing. I struggle with wanting to do what would make me happy but not having the energy to do it, and being afraid of what people think. I'm not much for posting my life on social media. I'm not dissing on people who post all the time with pictures, that's completely fine. But I would like to be able to explain the event that I go to and to give a realistic explanation of how it was for me. If I post just a picture of me with a short caption, I feel like it doesn't encapsulate the essence of the situation. I don't feel genuine if I do that, but hopefully with this blog, I can really write all that I want. I want to be able to share something and at least one person reads it. I'm not doing this to expect a bunch of views, but if it ends up like that, I will take it.
Not to be a selling influencer or whatever, but this google blogger site is actually pretty great. I value the simplicity of creating a small site with just enough information to keep anyone engaged. If any of you want to create a blog, I recommend Blogger wholeheartedly.
The Name
I named the site "A Dose of Mellytee" because it kinda rolls off the tongue. Mellytee is what my boyfriend and I nickname melatonin because I take it every night when we're on the phone together (we're long distance). I think it fits for me in a way because melatonin helps your body slow down and get calm for sleeping, something my brain needs help with, or else it will keep me awake. If I don't get the writing out, it will tumble around in my head until I go crazy. I'm not even sure if that makes sense, but if you get what I'm trying to say, I appreciate you.
Questions?
I'm open to write about any topic that you post in the comments. It helps me work out my brain and I see it as a fun thing to do. I'm excited to start this phase of my life, because it is a new chapter for me!
